I wanted to become a mental health clinician to better understand myself and my family. I love helping people, and to me, this is the ultimate helping profession. I get to help people with their quality of life and see them grow and enjoy their life. I believe therapy helps people understand their true selves and be the person they always want to be, so they can love their life and want to live it.
My mental health journey started when I was blessed with a daughter with ADHD and Autism. I wanted to know how to help her, and I ended up learning about my anxiety and how to be a good parent, and I found myself. I fell in love with helping people and connecting with them.
We have one life. We can’t live it hating it. I believe therapy helps us learn our true selves so we can live and love life. We can learn to get past the shame, the blame, and negative and racing thoughts. We learn to manage our mental health. We begin and accept ourselves and love living our lives. It is a constant process, but it works if you work it, and it is worth it because you are worth it.
